The County Climate Coalition was an effort led by the County of Santa Clara that called upon all counties in the U.S. to rally around combatting climate change.
In June 2017, acting on a request by then Board President Dave Cortese, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution affirming the County’s commitment to the United Nations Paris Climate Agreement and establishing what became the County Climate Coalition. Counties all over the U.S. were invited to join this Coalition and work together to solve this climate crisis.
